A TREASURE / SCAVENGER HUNT

Some of you requested the details of how I planned my husband's birthday scavenger hunt, so here it is!

Parag first got a card in hand that says, “This is no ordinary birthday card. Open to go on a journey.” 

Inside the riddles start with:

Clue 1

“Every morning after a shower.
To speak to your God you head here.”

(Answer: Dev Ghar. His first present “Autumn leaves flavor incense sticks” is hidden in the Dev Ghar storage). It has clue 2.

Clue 2
“This is where your (neatly folded) clothes go.
Look inside something you assembled from what you bought at a Swedish store.”

(Answer: An IKEA shelf in Parag’s wardrobe. His second present “a shirt” is hidden there). It has clue 3.

  

Clue3

“Next go to something that swivels although it's not a chair
It's still a furniture with a red interior.”

(Answer: Coffee table storage. His third present, “A Japanese phrase book” is hidden there). It has clue 4.

Clue 4

“For Bengalis like me absolutely love rice,
Look for where we store our extra, I advise.”

(Answer: One of the kitchen cabinets. His fourth present “A Christmassy candle holder” is hidden there.) It has clue 5.

Clue 5
“Think of a place where you can find all together
A tote bag, a picnic blanket, an umbrella and a sweater.”

(Answer: The trunk of our car. His fifth present “A car mount” is hidden there). It has clue 6.

Clue 6

“This was a present from your brother.
You always watch one side, but perhaps now you should look at the other?”

(Answer: The back of the TV. His sixth present “Tom & Jerry Holiday DVD” is hidden there). It has clue 7.

Clue 7
“For what does your wife most use a needle?
Look inside where she stores all her excess material.”

(Answer: Aditi’s wool and yarn storage box. His seventh present “A pair of hand-knitted slippers” is hidden there.) It has clue 8.

Clue 8
“Mirror, mirror on the wall
What's behind you? Reveal it all!”

(Answer: The wash basin closet. His eighth present “A hand-knitted phone cozy for his new phone” is hidden there.) It has clue 9.

Clue 9
“You generally wear one of your last presents to save you from low temperature.
But there is one equally cold place where you cannot do that inside our home somewhere.”

(Anwer: The refrigerator. His ninth (and final) present “Tiramisu Cake” is hidden there.) It has one last clue / message beside it.

“Clue” 10
“Happy birthday my best friend, my husband, my lover.
You are the shining star in my life forever.
This is my final present to you to mark your 32nd year.
Now give me a hug, come on over here.”

(This was really fun to plan. Although I have known DH forever, it was his first birthday that we celebrated together in our own home. He loved it all, needless to say :) )
