Chrysler-esque

Note: Irrespective of all the frustration knitters might have faced in the lace part, this is a VERY EASY pattern! The only thing is to remember, do not move any of the markers in any row of the F&F repeats, except in the third row of every subsequent fifth repeat. That’s it!
The first row of ALL lace repeats except the very first should read as follows -
Row 1 - k1, kfb, k to center sts, yo, k5, yo, k to two sts before end, kfb, k1. (pass markers as encountered).

Oct 10 - The gorgeous colorway is showing very nicely in the garter texture. It’s a light fingering yarn, so I’ll need more patience with his project, I’m sure! As of now this is a commuting-project but I want to complete this in time for my November trip to Singapore.
oct 17 - Starting the feather and fan border after 229 stitches. 28” wide at this point. Very confusingly written instructions here - followed marker moving instructions here but not before I had to frog at least two rows because I was doing things wrong. Hate frogging in general and definitely hate frogging lace!
oct 19 - After figuring out the deal with the 1st row of the lace repeats (that I have mentioned at the Note above), I am onto the design very well today. :) Using markers on F&F section, between each 3 k2tog helps. Thanks fellow ravelites for tips!! 4 repeats done today and VERY happy with the progress.
oct 20 - So excited by the construction of this shawlette - the waves are appearing like magic! The yarn is amazingly squishy through my fingers. I think I will try and utilize both skeins of my yarn instead of just repeating 10 F&F as I had earlier decided. Can’t wait to finish and block this. I hope I can complete it in time!!
oct 26 - I guess, using a light fingering yarn (instead of the 4-ply suggested) is making sure that I get A LOT of F&F repeats in one skein - even when I am using size 5 knitting needles instead of the thinner size 3 suggested. I am on my 13th F&F and still going strong on my first skein. I guess I will have a skein of this gorgeous colorway in my stash soon now.
oct 28 - Wingspan and depth - 58” and 22” wingspan and depth - 45” and 12” respectively with blocking ,45” and 12” respectively without blocking. Used just under one skein. LOVE the drape of the yarn. Excited to see how Zee likes it!
